Before entering medical school, she grew up in a tiny Midwestern town in Illinois; the kind of town with no stoplights and where the local family doctor cared for many of her family and friends. She began to love the idea of that type of medicine. She went to undergrad at St. Ambrose University, in Davenport Iowa, not too far from her home to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, graduating with highest honors. She then made the big move out to Colorado for medical school, searching for that true full-spectrum family medicine training that can be found in the west. After spending 4 years of medical school at University of Colorado (Anschutz) and graduating with her M.D. she realized she had fallen in love with the state of Colorado and plans to make it her forever home.
Family Medicine appeals to her due to the ability to get to know her patients, to help them through some of the most difficult days and some of the happiest days of their lives. She especially enjoys caring for her patients during their pregnancy, delivering the baby, and then caring for the infant in order to grow the relationship with the family. In addition to obstetrics, she also enjoys managing chronic illnesses such as diabetes and encouraging the importance of living an overall healthy lifestyle in order to prevent or treat chronic conditions.
Outside of medicine she enjoys spending time with her husband and her rescue dog as well as her other family members that have recently relocated to Denver. Some favorite activities include hiking, skiing, running, concerts, sampling restaurants and breweries, and traveling when able.
